The Huntley Community Association (HCA) is looking for a volunteer Mess Hall Director.
The HCA is based in Carp and provides the community with recreational activities, events, and facility rentals.
The Mess Hall is a city owned building managed by the HCA. People rent it for a variety of events such as birthday parties, showers, educational events, weddings, etc. A bar is available.
This volunteer position will require someone who can fulfill the following:
Duties
- Manage rental bookings
- Promptly read and reply to facility booking enquiries & follow-ups
- Provide rental quotes
- Maintain rental records using a spreadsheet
- Coordinate with cleaning staff, treasurer, AV director, bar manager, and other members of HCA board as required.
- Serve as a Director on the HCA board, attending monthly meetings, and participating in discussions and decisions regarding policies, finance, and programs.
Time Required:
- Approximately 6 hours per week. This is composed of many short, but frequent periods.

- Computer skills, including use of email, spreadsheets, and Google forms
- Willingness to learn
- Teamwork
- Organized
Resources provided:
- Training and mentoring and lots of transition support will be provided by the current manager, and ongoing support from the HCA Board will be available whenever needed.
- Laptop, printer, and shredder are provided.
This will prove to be an interesting and satisfying position serving the community.
