March Road Kanata North Intersection Improvements (Updated)

Construction of intersection improvements at March Road and Buckbean Avenue/Linseed Road was announced in a Facebook posting from Councillor Clarke Kelly on June 24. The posting states “The work may result in temporary traffic disruptions and construction-related noise in the area. Work is expected to begin sometime next week and take place until early November”. This is at the location of the new Ottawa Fire Station 45. Current road signs indicate this work will begin on June 29.

A previous announcement from Councillor Kelly states “City staff is recommending road works on March Road and Buckbean Avenue to construct a new four-legged signalized intersection including auxiliary left-turn and right-turn lanes, concrete sidewalks, crosswalks, cycle tracks, and cross-rides”. These details have not been confirmed.

March Road in Kanata North can be a very busy route, particularly during rush hours. Alternate routes should be considered during some periods of the construction process.

Update:

This notice, seen on Facebook on July 21, suggests further work will be started at the intersection of Invention Boulevard and March Road, just east of the location detailed above. March Road is going to be a busy spot!
