Furniture Recycling Opportunity
March 1st, 2021Recycling Opportunity Proposal
The Huntley Community Association is looking to provide an opportunity for residents to “recycle” furniture they no longer need and at the same time support Matthew House (Ottawa) – a volunteer-driven, charitable organization, focused on providing shelter, food and refugee settlement assistance and distributing quality used furniture and household goods to Ottawa’s marginalized population.
HCA volunteers would pick up gently used large furniture items (i.e. sofas, chairs, tables, bed frames, clean mattresses, dressers) from residents located in the Village of Carp and deliver them to MH’s furniture bank in Kanata. Residents would pay a small fee for the service.
Donors are entitled to receive a charitable tax credit receipt based on the fair market value of their used furniture.
Please Let Us Know
The decision and frequency that the HCA will offer this service depends on the community’s level of interest. For residents who are interested please contact the HCA by email (info@hca-carp.ca) or by replying to this message on our Facebook page.
